Mini plot

There’s a new mini-plot in the works. I’m not announcing the time/date for this one. If you want to be involved, let’s just hope you’re online at the time I’ve chosen! Heads up: There’s serious danger and even the chance of not surviving it. If you participate, you’re agreeing to that.

Whee!

Farming updates:

We’ve had some players interested in farming in one way or another who were always told to ‘hold off’ until the code got adjusted. Not happening. SO, I came up with a nifty little work around. You’ve probably seen a lot more plants growing wild. There’s also plants and animals that can be purchased if you have a farm. (A real farm, not a ‘I want to use this bit of wilderness’). It’ll allow you to harvest fruits and vegetables and even milk. So, it’s now a viable RP option for players. Farmland can be purchased as well, outside of Milford.

We’re working on specials at the moment. Some are nearly done and ready to be offered again, others will be some time in the future still. It’s okay to start thinking about a special you’d like to play, but please don’t get mad if you’re told that your background won’t work or that we’re not offering them yet.

Requirements to play a special:

  • minimum of 7500 TRPP
  • proven record of GOOD RP.
  • proven willingness to stick to the mythos as it stands
  • solid background for the character in question that includes:
character’s history including how/where they became ’special’
      character’s place in the mythos
      character’s religious beliefs and affiliations
character’s alignment (good, neutral, evil, etc)
      character’s goals
your OOC goals for this character

You can send your final applications to me, or any of the other staff. We have a place on the forums where we post them and discuss, suggest changes, etc, and then get back to you after a consensus has been reached. Please understand, given our varied schedules it takes at least a week or two before you’ll hear back.

    Sayaki

We’ve seen a huge surge in the Sayaki population within Seahaven over the last week or so. I’ve done some updating on the website, but here are a few important points to remember:

      1. Sayaki women are ALWAYS subservient to men, unless the man is a far lower social class.

      2. It is not criminal (in the Sayaki culture) for a man to reprimand or even strike a woman for disrespecting him.

      3. Sayaki despise halfbreeds of all races, but half-bred Sayaki are the worst. A half-Aartiran Sayaki might be accepted, but other races? No way in hell.

      4. Sayaki are NOT Japanese. They do not speak Japanese, and so Japanese suffixes and titles such as -san and -chan should not be used. They wear clothing very similar to the Japanese, but their culture is not Japanese. They don’t use katanas, they don’t perform tea ceremonies. They’re a unique culture. If you’ve ideas to add to their culture, great! Just remember, we’re not stealing from the Japanese.

      5. Sayaki women never train in combat fighting. To do so would be a true disgrace, not only on themselves, but on their families.

      6. The Sayaki are snobs. No other culture is as good as theirs. Even the lowest ranking Sayaki considers themselves above Aartirans, Tir, and Skrel’eth.

      7. The Sayaki alliance with the Aartirans is tenuous at best, given the upheaval in Seahaven.

More information on the Sayaki can be found here:

    An unfortunate side note:

Marduk is internetless for the time being. He plays several prominent characters within the DI setting, including Flaern ap Arion and Jarel Armanis. Neither of these characters is missing. They should not be RP’d as such. Your characters are just not crossing their paths. Should you need to get ahold of him, he can be reached by email (with a few days grace period) or you can contact me and I’ll call him.

We’ll get it sorted out and hopefully he’ll be with us again soon.

    A much happier point:

Whee! Congratulations to Carmine on her graduation and brand new job. We’re so excited for her!
