My Mum is out of hositpal now and is recovering slowly. She got a bit moody yesterday but for the first time ever, she apologised.

And the bestest news, my brother is arriving to visit for a couple of days on Sunday. I can’t wait. My family are all descending upon our household to see him, and I kind of wish they weren’t so we could have him to ourselves for what little time he is going to be here. But that would be a bit selfish. Going to try make him an apple and boysenberry pie. I made up the boysenberry syrup last night.

I just checked now and my grade for my programming languages paper has gone provisional and is an A- at the moment but could change. A- is good. It is the minimum grade I need for honours. And given everything that went on last semester I’m happy with that. And you never know, it might get upgraded to an A, like one of my papers last year.

I wasn’t so lucky with my Math paper. I screwed up in the exam big time. My own fault. I had to leave early to pick up Ewan from creche. I should of somehow made other arrangements. Because of that, I didn’t have the time to go back and do the questions I missed and knew and intended to go back and do. I fucked up.  B-.

It has been a long week. Though I’m not sure when the week even began and the last one ended.

My Mum was rushed into hospital on Friday, just after lunch in an ambulance.

She had a chest xray, ECG and bloods and it turns out she has quite bad pneumonia. She waited in A&E until 4am when they finally admitted her. They were going to send her home… which is just… crazy. Especially with all her health problems. Since then I’ve been visiting her daily. She was taken off oxygen, but now is back on it again and is on antibiotics to fight the infection.

They expect her to be in till at least the end of the week.

Exams are over. Mum was going to be going to my grandparents to stay for two weeks but due to a couple of things, that isn’t going to happen.

Though one of the reasons is a good thing, in that we have decided to move from our crappy cold house and find a drier warm one.

It is just too much. The landlords won’t do anything. There are big gaps around the windows and doors. One of the windows is a LOUVER window for fuck’s sake. No wonder bloody why we get temperatures inside of as low as 0 C and even below. Ewan was so cold a couple of nights back he woke up freezing (with the heater on all night at full in our two small rooms) and I had to pull him into bed with me to warm him up and get him to sleep. He had 2 layers of pjammas on. At home, his asthma plays up and he’s snuffling and coughing all day. He goes to creche and it clears up. He comes back home again and it starts up. Then there is the massive $700 power bill last month…  just to barely keep us warm… can’t afford that!

I have 2 weeks before Uni starts, but we have to find a place and give 3 weeks notice. Which means I’ll be moving after Uni starts unfortunately. But it can’t be helped. The sooner the better. We can’t wait till the end of the year.

The other bit of good news is, house rental prices have dropped so we can get more for our money now. And by paying just a little bit more than we are now, we can get a pretty decent place, perhaps even within walking distance to Uni. I can’t wait.

Last exam for me on Thursday. For some reason I had in my head it was on a Friday so I feel somehow cheated out of a day of study as Thursday afternoon it is.

It is computational logic (math argh). That test which I posted about a few weeks ago saying I thought I did bad in. I did bad in. I didn’t pass. But there is some good news. Almost no one did. It was too long and too hard (yeah, I know I’m just asking for a smutty joke there). I was only -one- mark off passing, and the markers were very leniant with my marks.  I am sure that if the test didn’t have errors on it (and thus did not spend 20 minutes on a question that was not solvable), I would of been able to pass as I would of had time to do a couple of the questions I missed that I was confident I could of given at least a partial answer for. The final assignment (5) I did well in.

But basically all of that means, I need to do really well in this exam to keep my grades up. Not that it really matters. I just need to pass. But my own overly high standards can’t seem to accept this and makes me want an A- minimum. Even if this paper doesn’t count towards my honours. Strictly speaking.

We have had an upgrade to our in game messaging system.

Now, when you send a message, you enter the recipient and subject and it’ll put you into a buffer, where all the usual /s, /l, /n, /f, /a, etc all work. When you are done, /s to send and viola. You can send a multi-line message with colours.

The server checks every 60 seconds and lets you know when a new message comes in and you can view a list of messages currently in your inbox with message check. To view a specific message in full, you now have to use message read [id].

Still a (little) buggy and there is still more to come.

Well, I got it fixed early this morn and restored the prompts and colours.

*sleepy* spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon working on setting up the repositories with the new servers and making sure that all worked.

So, should I feel the inkling to do so, the code is all ready for me to work on.

Thank you for all your support and positive feed back, that was great to wake up to this morning. Just got to keep my mind on the end-goal, only 10 days then my math final and then my Mum’s MRI then two weeks off. And next semester will be easier. And selecting papers to make sure it is. Part time.

So much for my first day off in a month.

And still no closer to fixing it.

I think I started at about 11am, and it’s now 1.50am. I have to get up in a few hours, supposedly to go to uni to study for my next exam. Except now I can’t.

Because, I haven’t had more than 20 minutes ‘off’ since starting trying to fix this. Not even for breakfast, or lunch. And there is no way I can go into another 2 weeks of study without a day off.. and yet.. I can’t, because the mud is broke. And for that reason I can’t study. I somehow don’t think it would be acceptable for the mud to be not working till after my exam either.

At the moment, it is really hard to farthom why  I am giving up so much time to do this. I am sure any one of you wouldn’t. Even more so if almost every time you got involved in the mud lately it is due to a player demanding something be done, then and there or they’ll quit, or complaining, or causing an argument with another player.

I get a few minutes lately for the mud, and it’s all taken up with crap and leaving zero time to actually get any kind of enjoyment out of it. But I guess, that’s okay, because after the scene with Kameo and her rant about my inability to post, any desire to RP has just completely gone.

So sorry, it is still not fixed. But that’s okay, because I’ll be spending all day tomorrow on it too, whilst I’m at uni and use up all my download credit doing so.

Okay, we’re up. Tentatively.

I say tentatively  because you’ll notice a whole bunch of commands not working.

This is because mud-magic hasn’t transferred over our data files, so the commands that accessed them have been commented out essentially.

There also seems to be some supporting library files missing from the new server we also need to run, so at the moment, things are a little unpredictable. Can people PLEASE be patient, not do anything un-necessary and avoid anything but essential requests from staff.

IE, don’t go around killing things just for the sake of it please. Or if you do, you do so at your own risk. Your abilities might not be at their fullest as some of the data files might not be being accessed.

To keep everyone in the loop as to why we’re not up and running at the moment… our host, mudmagic, moved us to a new server.

Unfortunately it looks like the transfer didn’t go as smoothly as we had hoped and some of the files we use and need on the old server aren’t on the new.

There is also a bunch of other stuff that’s not compatible that needs fixing that might take me some time to organise and fix.

Yesterday, we got the news that my Mum’s biopsy was clear. Which is really good news. Though there is still something ‘wrong’ to have caused the lung-collapses, we know now that it definitely isn’t lung cancer as the doctors had thought. The next step  is an MRI, which she is booked for in 2 weeks.

All assignments done and handed in. Haskell exam Monday, and the math in two weeks on the Friday.

As well as saying no, Ewan is now also suddenly deveoped an interest in dinosaurs. So I couldn’t resist getting him a baby Triceratops (Kota and Pals) that growls, purrs, rawrs and moves. I think he was kind of in shock when I gave it to him heh. But after a bit he took to it.
